Travel Insurance for Your Laptop
I recently came back from spending a week with family over the Christmas holiday. I was one of the first people aboard the plane and was watching the airline crew literally chunk luggage onto the conveyor belt. I suddenly realized my most expensive possessions were in my suitcase…which was about to be, if it had not already been, tossed onto that very same conveyor belt.
Luckily my laptop still worked when I reached my mom’s house. So, needless to say, I spent some time researching laptop insurance before my flight home.
I checked with my homeowners insurance first, hoping my laptop might already be covered. It was in fact covered but I was reminded that I have a $1000 deductible. I then went online found an array of companies online promising to insure my laptop for accidental breakage, theft, fire, flood and even natural disasters. Worth Ave Group stuck out the most as I’m heading to Spain next month and their coverage is automatically worldwide. Some of the other companies had the worldwide coverage but had to be added for additional premium. Even better was that I was able to choose a $25 deductible and it was a yearly premium instead of monthly.
WOOHOO! Spain here I come.
